Female nude painting n. 2, oil painting on canvas

I started this female nude painting from light to darkness. On the figure I used a mix of ochre and white, after drying I went on applying the darker tones. The following process is to paint the other nuances of the skin, I applied the colours in "veils" that are coats of colour thinned in medium such as oil and turpentine or liquin, this way the colour is transparent and turns the paint under into a different colour, for example if you put a veil of red on yellow, this becomes orange. With this method you can create several and different shades of colour, you can make the tones "colder" adding some blue or "warmer" with burnt sienna, red, orange, etc., this is left to your fantasy. If you want to speed up the work, use liquin instead of oil, this one needs a lot of time to dry.
